Our country is bankrupt, but the whole world is bankrupt. So we are having serious 00:46.650 --> 00:53.210 problems that at the same time all this fuss and fume over coronavirus is handled 00:53.210 --> 00:58.130 the same way they handled 9-11. Destroy the civil liberties of the American people. 00:58.670 --> 01:03.230 Right after 9-11, the Patriot Act was passed and this was supposed to solve all the problems. 01:03.350 --> 01:07.810 And that's exactly what we're doing today in a reaction to the coronavirus. Take away the 01:07.810 --> 01:12.910 liberties of the American people and this will solve the problem. But it is very, very serious 01:12.910 --> 01:19.210 and that is why Liberland is so important. It's important because it's a place. It's 01:19.210 --> 01:24.790 important also because it's an idea too. It's a place where people can go and understand 01:24.790 --> 01:30.810 and promote the answers to the world's problem. So that is why I'm very proud to be a part of 01:30.810 --> 01:37.590 this organization and I have, like I said, I have a passport to Liberland. But of course, 01:37.690 --> 01:41.990 there is a mystical part of it too because it's not enough to house too many people, 01:42.290 --> 01:48.430 but it is real. It's mystical in the sense that it represents an idea and the idea is that 01:48.430 --> 01:56.150 of liberty and the great need for that element right now today, more so than ever. 01:57.290 --> 02:02.970 There was a major speech given when I was a sophomore in high school. It was given by 02:03.950 --> 02:09.870 MacArthur after he had been fired by Truman during the Korean War. And the speech was given 02:09.870 --> 02:15.190 to the House of Representatives and to the nation and we had an assembly which was very, 02:15.190 --> 02:18.570 very unusual. The only time it happened when I was in high school brought everybody together to 02:18.570 --> 02:26.030 listen to somebody talking on the radio and that of course was to listen live to MacArthur's 02:26.030 --> 02:31.270 speech that became very, very famous. But most everybody remembers his closing 02:31.870 --> 02:35.430 because he closed it with some words from an old army ballot. He says, 02:35.570 --> 02:42.250 old soldiers never die, they just fade away. And it was interesting and catchy and it's 02:42.250 --> 02:47.770 been remembered. But you know when I take that saying and want to use it in a way about what happens 02:47.770 --> 02:53.990 to old libertarians, the last thing that should happen is old libertarians shouldn't just fade 02:53.990 --> 02:59.850 away. Old libertarians should go to Liberland. That's where they should go and promote the 02:59.850 --> 03:06.650 cause of liberty. And I think that is so much different and important because it is the issues 03:06.650 --> 03:13.470 of liberty that the people that are involved with Liberland are the ones who know this and can 03:13.470 --> 03:20.090 promote it. So to me it's also very important. It is an idea but it is a place and only ideas 03:20.090 --> 03:26.150 have consequences and the consequences are serious when they're bad idea. But instead of me seeing 03:26.150 --> 03:33.290 the whole world totally in chaos and falling apart, I see the ideas of liberty and Liberland 03:33.290 --> 03:38.850 as a place now that more people should be seeking and understanding because it is that 03:38.850 --> 03:45.530 ideological expression of individual liberty in contrast to the authoritarianism which is 03:45.530 --> 03:51.130 being presented to us as a solution in Washington and the world governments and wherever we go 03:51.130 --> 03:56.270 that we have to sacrifice our liberties to solve all these problems. All these problems that 03:56.270 --> 04:01.570 have come from the abuse of government power and the lack of liberty. So if we want to 04:01.570 --> 04:07.350 really think seriously about what we should do that we shouldn't fade away and we don't want to 04:07.350 --> 04:13.190 be like the old soldier that fades away and nobody ever hears about him. All libertarians should 04:13.190 --> 04:19.370 go and seek their place in Liberland whether it's the actual place or whether it's the ideological 04:19.370 --> 04:25.470 place which is so important. And that is based on one thing, non-aggression. It's simple. 04:25.710 --> 04:30.550 Everybody should love it whether you're liberal progressive or whatever. Just give up the 04:30.550 --> 04:36.190 principle of using force and violence against each other. Governments can't do it and people can't do 04:36.190 --> 04:41.550 it so that should be available to all of us. Just think how wonderful it would be if people could 04:41.550 --> 04:46.610 come together with this basic principle that nobody and no government can initiate violence 04:46.610 --> 04:51.650 against somebody else. I mean the world would be peaceful. It's a little bit more than we 04:51.650 --> 04:56.530 can expect but at least the more the merry the more people who believe that the less chaos 04:56.530 --> 05:02.130 that we're going to have but too many people like it's going on right now we have this chaos and people 05:02.130 --> 05:07.530 are so anxious to look to the government. The government will solve our problem but I do believe 05:07.530 --> 05:14.050 the ideas of liberty and and the and the whole principle of libertarianism alive and well. 05:14.370 --> 05:20.190 Liberland is a place and it's an ideological philosophy that people should cling to and 05:20.190 --> 05:25.310 make available because it brings people together. I think that the American people if they hear the 06:11.090 --> 06:16.330 message they will respond to our call and that is where it's necessary.
